Antibioticos

Antibioticos is part of the Fidia Group since 2003.

One of the world's largest producers of penicillin and cephalosporin antibiotics for human and animal use, Antibioticos was established in 1990 as a result of the union between Antibioticos S.A. and Erba Biochimica S.p.A. (a Farmitalia Carlo Erba company, involved in the production of active ingredients).

This multinational group has plants, sales offices and research centers in Europe (Italy and Spain) and the Far East (China).

Fermentation processes using high-yield microbial strains form the basis for Antibioticos’ production activities. From these activities, pharmaceutical intermediates and active ingredients are obtained by chemical synthesis and, more recently, by natural enzymatic processes. The production plants undergo routine inspection by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and by the local health authorities.
